Gastroenterology
Jacob W. Wendling, DO is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Molecular Bioscience and Biotechnology at Arizona State University and finished his Doctorate of Osteopathy at A.T. Still University.
Jacob chose medicine because he enjoys the functions, abilities, and organization of the human body. He enjoys that it can provide opportunities for personal growth, learning and improvement and at the same time benefit, improve and enrich the lives of others.
Dr. Wendling practices community based gastroenterology, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Gastroenterology gives Jacob the chance to see a variety of cases and be challenged in his practice. Between acute inpatient care, outpatient appointments and procedures and working with the entire digestive tract, no day is ever the same.
Jacob was born in Moscow, Idaho, where he spent summers fishing and enjoying time with his family before moving to Montana. He then moved around for nearly 20 years, living in six different states after high school. After several years of life away from home, Jacob and his wife decided it was time to move back West to be closer to family.
When Jacob is not practicing medicine he enjoys spending time with his children doing activities they can all enjoy together. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, going fishing and watching college football – so he can root for his alma mater.
