Michael McCormick, DO is a board certified internal medicine physician. He completed medical school at Pacific Northwest University in Yakima, WA, finished his residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH and finished his internship at Chino Valley Medical Center in California.

Michael chose to pursue medicine because he wanted to leave a mark on the world that involved helping to heal and make people whole. Often, this means being there for his patients on their worst days.

He was drawn to specialize in internal medicine because it encompasses a broad range of sub-specialties and provides him with an array of skills to treat acute medical issues in major organ systems throughout the body.

Michael served as a physician in the US Air Force and has strong military involvement in his family. His grandfather was a Pearl Harbor survivor; his dad served in Vietnam and in the Navy for 27 years; and he has three brothers who are currently serving.

The move to southeastern Idaho brings Michael and his family closer to extended family and friends. Michael enjoys spending time with his six children, dating his wife, traveling to warm destinations, hiking, biking, snowboarding, and serving others.

He looks forward to being a part of a top-rated hospital and healthcare organization in Portneuf Medical Center.
