Cody Martin, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He completed medical school at the University of Utah, finished his residency at the University of Florida Jacksonville, with clinical rotations at the Mayo Clinic in Florida, and earned his fellowship while focusing on hip and knee joint reconstruction at the University of Virginia.

He is honored that patients allow him to be part of their lives through the doctor-patient relationship. "When that relationship is based on trust, honest communication, hard work and quality care, patients are able to overcome their ailments and enjoy a better quality of life,” Martin said.

Cody’s mother, a nurse, introduced him to the field of medicine at a young age. He has always enjoyed helping people and problem solving; both fundamental requirements of a skilled physician. His interest in medicine continued while serving a mission in West Africa, where he was fortunate to be able to assist in prenatal clinics.

Prior to his pursuit of medicine, Cody received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University. Having a foundational education in engineering has strengthened Cody’s ability to problem solve and think conceptually while in the operating room. The son of a general contractor, Cody grew up working on construction sites, working with his hands, and using power tools. He feels right at home working with delicate power tools on the human body while repairing joints.

“One of the sweetest joys in this life is helping relieve someone else’s pain and suffering," said Martin. "I love being an orthopaedic surgeon, because I am able to see patients overcome their injuries and musculoskeletal problems, and improve their quality of life. I may not have all the answers, but I have the resources to ensure that I can provide the very best care an orthopaedic surgeon has to offer.”

Cody is looking forward to practicing medicine while being closer to his family, and in a region with plenty of outdoor activities. When not practicing medicine, Cody enjoys spending time with his children, playing sports, running and hunting. Cody is open to most hobbies – he even took a Latin dance class with his wife during college.

I needed a new hip. Mine was on its last leg (pun intended). Out of fear, I had avoided surgery and lived with the pain for about 2 years until it became unbearable. I went to Dr. Martin. He explained to me the surgical process, the risks and potential side effects. During the office visits leading up to my surgery, Dr. Martin listened to my concerns and answered every question I had about the procedure and what to expect from it. At no time did I feel intimidated or condescended to; Dr. Martin explained everything very well and helped me understand the complete procedure. He didn't sugarcoat the risks. He wanted to make sure I fully understood all of it. I still felt the fear, but Dr. Martin's sense of humor, openness, and confidence helped me to take the step. Dr. Martin performed the surgery in mid-February 2024, and it has been truly life-changing. My pain is completely gone! My limp is gone, and, for normal daily activities, my mobility is back to what it was before. Thank you Dr. Martin!

Absolutely LOVE this entire Doc Martin (not the shoes) team. Words fail me how much I admire and appreciate these folks. There might be a few teams as good in every way. But of certainty, there are NONE better!!!!!

I could not be happier with the care I received from Dr. Martin and his staff. My surgery went great and so did the recovery process. Two months out and I no longer have the hip pain I was suffering from. Aside from Dr. Martin's talent as a surgeon, he is very professional, personable, and easy to talk to. I would also like to mention Dr. Jenson and Nurse Jill, as they were excellent to work with and made sure I was well informed and taken care of. I will definitely choose Dr. Martin and team again for any future procedures.

Have no complaints. Surgery went well, recovery was excellent, back to my old self. Dr Martin, the Dr with him (don't know his name) and Jill were all reassuring, friendly, but professional. Would recommend them to anyone having hip or knee surgery. Thanks 😊
